How does Platform / the place work?

Platform is a new kind of gaming bar and restaurant. Come on down to our venue right by old street and we’ll prepare a spot for you and your pals. Due to demand we do advise pre-booking, but our team will always do their best to accommodate.  

Can I come down just to drink or eat?

Of course. Due to our venue being heavily booked for experiences, we do advise booking in for food and drinks, but if you’re gazing lovingly through the window, our team will always do their best to find you a space 

How much does it cost?

Multiplayer experiences (inc Bottomless Brunch & cocktails & controllers) are all priced by package for 90 minutes. Prices vary from peak and off peak hours 

PC and esports packages are either priced by 90min (PC only, Esports Express) or 45min for the esports express package.

PC experiences start from £5 per person.

Multiplayer booth experiences start from  £9 per person for a non-peak session, and £12 for peak.

The retro gaming experience is free to play if you order food and or drink – however this is currently unavailable due to social distancing.

Peak times are after 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and all day Friday to Sunday.

What group sizes are allowed?

For Multiplayer online bookings we are accepting a maximum group size of 6 until further notice. There will be a safety guard between groups.

How long is the experience?

All our full experiences are all  90mins except for our esports Express package which offers 45 minutes our gaming PCs & a drink for £8. 

When should we arrive?

We advise that you arrive no more than 10  minutes before your pre-booked time due waiting times and capacity. If you would like to come for a drink before or stay for food or drinks after your booked experience we advise that you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. We are operating on limited tables to ensure we can adhere to safe social distance guidelines. 

What is the age limit? Are children allowed?

Platform is an 18+ venue from 4pm everyday and well behaved mini-Platformers are welcome before that. Keep an eye out as we have some interesting ideas for parents and children bonding days at Platform! Don’t hesitate to email us if that’s up your alley and would like us to make it happen.

What’s the deal with food and drink?

We have loads of it! Check out our unique pizzas, banging cocktails and everything else to put in your mouth on our menu page.

Platform does not accept external food or cakes to be brought into the venue.

How do I order Drinks?

We will be providing table service only to your booked zone throughout your experience. 

Can we stay for drinks after our booking?

Yes we have tables in our bar area that are socially distanced. Please let your host know if you intend to stay so that they can prepare a table for you if one is available. We advise that you email ahead and book to avoid disappointment on the day. 

If I don’t want to game can I just sit with my friends?

All those in the multiplayer booths must pay per the zone. Think of it like bowling. 

You are welcome to stay at our seated bar area but we can’t allow for non-players to join the gaming zones.

Is it ok to just sit and have pizza?

Whether you’re totally into games or not at all, Platform is a great space to hangout and have a drink or some food. Get a feel of the space and its excitement without any pressure to jump in. We’ll be ready when you are!

Do we have group packages?

The best way to spend your birthday, company team building event, or just a casual Thursday evening with your pals is at Platform! We cater to all groups with a dedicated Gaming Compere and have food and drink packages available. To avoid the hassle of that one person who mysteriously hasn’t paid their share! Platform Party is our best package for groups at £45pp for 90 minutes of gaming, 2 courses, and 3 drinks / cocktails  each!

Currently we are accepting group bookings of up to 6 online.

What’s included in the package menus?

House drinks: Draught beer (Camden Hells or pale ale) house wine 175ml, bottle of cider (Hawkes Urban Orchard Cider) Single house spirit  mixer, prosecco 125ml 

Food: All packages now include any pizza from our menu 

The Bottomless drinks menu: includes bottomless draft beer, prosecco and Bloody Marios (Our spin on the classic Bloody Mary). We also have unlimited water & juice.

Personal Power-Up potions: A Shot of our secret power-up potion to get you in the mood for your experience.

Platform Party packages: Gives you access to 3 of any drink on our menu including cocktails.

Covid-19: What safety measures are you putting into place?

We have a 5 star Food Hygiene Rating and are, and always have been, very strongly committed to a clean, spacious and safe work and play space for our staff and our customers alike. Please check our covid page for a detailed rundown

How do you keep your controllers and other gaming equipment clean?

 Our staff thoroughly de-germ controllers after each session. Our team uses 70% alcohol wipes and are happy to clean on demand. Our keyboards are wiped down by staff after every use – we call this role: keyboard wiper

Covid-19: What group sizes are possible?

In line with Government guidance, our current maximum multiplayer booth capacity is 6.
